21 Day Fix: Meal Plan & Grocery List

I GOT MY PACKAGE -21 Day Fix is here! Much like a wild animal, I shrieked and ripped it open.  Then swiftly started investigating and reading over everything. To recap it comes with:

  • 7 workouts (on 2 DVD's)
Each workout is 30 minutes and shows a modification for each move, for beginners or persons with injuries. The workouts are: Total Body Cardio Fix, Upper Fix, Lower Fix, Pilates Fix, Cardio Fix, and Yoga Fix (Dirty 30 is a 'bonus' workout included on DVD). I start the regimen on Monday, May 19 so I will weigh in on the workouts then!

  • 7 color-coded, plastic (BPA-free) containers
Green - Vegetables
Purple - Fruit
Red - Protein
Yellow - Carbs
Blue - Healthy fat/Cheese
2 Orange - Seeds/Oils
Bonus: Shakeology Shaker Cup

The idea behind the containers is to get around measuring and weighing your food and just following the guidelines of - if it fits, you can eat it. To me, the plastic containers that come with the program seem unnecessary, but for someone who has never measured their food it may be very helpful. After years of dieting, I am well aware of correct portions and servings of several foods (even if I obviously ignore these portion sizes and eat giant slices of pizza from time to time). Also, the containers are safe for the microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator.

  • Meal Plan
Whether you use the provided containers or follow portion guidelines, the idea behind the meal plan is that you are given a certain amount of portions per container (or food group) based on your current weight. Following their formula, I am allotted 4 green, 3 purple, 4 red, 3 yellow, 1 blue, 1 orange and 4 tablespoons) these account for fats like EVOO and peanut butter.
*Treats: you are allowed to exchange up to 3 yellows per week for a treat such as 4 oz. of wine (I don't even know what only 4 oz. of wine looks like...) or chocolate.

  • 3 Day Fix
This is a 3-day, calorie restrictive, ultra clean eating, program that she encourages you to utilize on your last three days on the 21 Day Fix. It basically consists of 6 small meals of lean protein and veggies.

I am excited to start this program! I am also excited and anxious to try her workouts. A lot of the Beachbody programs seem to be very fast-paced and a little bit advanced in movements and combinations of movements. I cannot wait to see where this sits on the scale of Brazilian Butt Lift to Insanity. I have taken the containers that I am allotted per day and made up a one week sample meal plan for you to see what I will be eating, you are also welcome to join! It really sounds like plenty of good, filling foods that should be no problem to stick with.

  2. Hi! I start my 21 Day Fix tomorrow and just went to the grocery store and bought everything on this list. However, as I went to meal prep just now I realized no recipes were listed on here. Is there any where I can access them? Thank you so much! :)
